Embracing a phrase from Ben & Jerry’s (“If it’s not fun, why do it!?”), Dana is a professional in Partnerships, Marketing and Public Relations with 20+ years experience working with global technology, sports, consumer, travel, nonprofit and social good companies. She is also a freelance writer and event planner. When not working, she runs half marathons, teaches her 13-year-old triplets (and her husband, who is Hawaiian) to SUP, and enjoys Old Vine Zinfindel--though not necessarily all at the same time!
VP Strategic Partnerships @ Our journey at One World Play Project started with a simple concept: A ball—the One World Futbol. A ball that never needs a pump, never goes flat—even when punctured. Today, this ultra-durable ball brings the power of play an estimated 45 million youth who don’t even have something as simple as a ball to play with. The One World Futbol was just the beginning. The impact of our efforts over the past 5 years showed us that the need for play and physical activity was something much greater. We discovered play’s critical role in the lives of people all over the world—and where play can take us all tomorrow.
We know there isn’t enough play in the world -- play deprivation is causing a negative impact that needs to change. And we have seen first-hand that where play happens, change happens (TM). When we play, conflicts are forgotten, collaboration begins, and despair is replaced by joy. Hope, opportunity and optimism come from play.
Armed with this insight, we expanded our mission to deliver the transformative power of play to those that need it most—anywhere and everywhere.
The “anywhere” piece relates to our ultra-durable products that are able to withstand the harshest environments and allow children and youth to play wherever they are. The “everywhere” piece relates to the responsibility we believe we have to use the insight and experience we have gained, our platform, our ultra-durable One World Futbol, our resources and our influence to:
*shine a bright light on the benefits of play,
*increase awareness of the play deficit that is all too evident,
*align with key partners to affect change, and
*elevate the critical work of pioneers and leaders in play to increase opportunities for children and youth to maximize their potential.
We invite you to join us and bring the transformative power of play to youth worldwide. Where play happens, change happens.
