This involved managing a field team of Business Managers who worked directly in stores. My role was to grow the highly profitable £110m business across the 131 stores. By working with the Zone Managing Director, the Regional Operations Manager and Store Managers I landed several high profile challenges on the zone. Full accountability for delivering a business in excess of £100m pa delivering profitable sales for the company. I managed field team of managers who support, coach and manage the results of their areas. I set up new initiatives in line with the company brand while being the link between the retail world and trading Store Support Centre. Key achievements in role: - Grew the category sales by +20% YOY. -I opened 200 stores and refitted 50 others. I was part of the store design team and layout/ ranging process. - I wrote and delivered the Bakery Category vision which was delivered and signed off at board level. - I doubled the headcount of the field team to support future growth. - I delivered LFL highly profitable sales of +20% with improved operational excellence company wide. - I opened the first scratch bakery in a Convenience store in the UK at Canada Water. - I launched bakery Hubs to 60 stores across the country. - Project managed an improved production planning system for stores to use which delivered improved sales and reduced cost and complexity of operations. -I lead the change to improve operations and remove costs to the sum of £1m YOY by implementing a new stock management system for Bakery operations. From March 2012 to March 2014 (2 years 1 month) Project Manager - Secondment @ Took up a secondment to cross functionally coordinate the refits in 7 Large Convenience stores across the country. Utilised a CAPEX budget for works in all stores. Worked with FM, finance, trading and retail teams to deliver an improved customer shopping experience in all 7 stores. Delivered 7 refits during the project. This included building bespoke ranges for the stores tailored to the customer shopping profile. 6 of the 7 stores improved on sales LFL upto +15% (n.b one store was competitor impacted). Colleague engagement measures improved in all stores and absence improved through creating a great place to work. From March 2012 to July 2012 (5 months) London, United KingdomStore Manager @ Store manager in over 16 stores in this period. Last store was a high profile store in Central London serving 55,000 transient customers per week. In this store I delivered all store metrics including Profit,Customer measures and Colleague measure to place the store top of the region from a poor starting position position. I have also identified, coached and trained 22 stores managers. As a store manager I opened 2 stores as, one in the face of a fierce residential challenge , refitted 2 stores as a store manager. I also worked on a secondment closing Shell Beach (petrol station) sites over a period of 3 months. I was also the regional finance lead for London as a development role (while as store manager) this involved creating plans to improve Shrink, Waste and Store Cost lines for the region. While doing this I demonstrated a £130k YOY saving on Shrink in 1 year. Awarded London Store Manager of the Year 2012 for store results and support to region. From August 2005 to March 2012 (6 years 8 months) Student to Store Manager. @ Started as a part time student and developed into becoming the youngest store manager in the estate. I ran 2 stores with 20-28 colleagues in each while as a store manager. I was accountable for a 10 KPI measures including profit, sales, labour, customer measures and operational routines. My last store was signed off as a store of excellence for training through the foundations I had put into place.
