đź“– Summary
I build algorithms and conduct data analysis for startups and SMEs, taking my client’s specifications, and designing, building and delivering the solutions. My algorithm development projects are in the fantasy sports and travel industries, and data analysis projects in the ecommerce, PR and health sectors. My portfolio describes these projects in more detail (http://chrisjdavie.github.io/portfolio.html, link below). I graduated a year ago from my computational Physics PhD, looking at the robustness of a laser fusion, a potential source of green electricity. I published two first author papers, gave numerous presentations, including two at international conferences. I have 5 years Python experience and 13 months contracting experience, providing data analysis, algorithm design and visualisations. My skills include statistical data analysis, MySQL, Google Analytics, Google Maps, GIS, web scraping, Cython and C++. I have experience with algorithm development, using tree solutions to solve fantasy sports problems, designing a geographical carpooling algorithm and building grid-based analysis systems for computational Plasma Physics.Algorithm Developer @ Designed and implemented a custom algorithm for fantasy sports that underpins a new web-based premium product range. From March 2015 to Present (10 months) Data Analyst, Algorithm Developer @ Short term projects include: Data driven marketing and recruitment. Developing a GIS carpooling algorithm. Statistical analysis of purchasing data in support of data-driven PR. From October 2014 to Present (1 year 3 months) Data Analyst @ I worked part-time for the ASI, a start-up providing data science training and consulting. I designed various courses and designed and implemented data science solutions. My role included; Implementing novel visualisation solutions. Designing and implementing FinTech algorithms. Supervising training projects. Designing training courses. Designing metrics to assess the effectiveness of a training course. Statistical analysis of government health data. From October 2014 to May 2015 (8 months) London, United KingdomResearch Scientist @ Technical lead of design projects, on a project developing hardware for a training exercise. Building computer simulations of experiments, optimising parameters and providing recommendations on experiments to run. Experimental implementation & support, including design, organisation and implementation of experiments. Set up data recording systems. From January 2008 to October 2009 (1 year 10 months) PhD, Computational Plasma Physics @ Imperial College London From 2010 to 2015 MSc in Fusion Energy, Fusion Energy, Distinction @ The University of York From 2009 to 2010 Master of Physics, Physics, 2.1 @ The University of Manchester From 2000 to 2004 Chris Davie is skilled in: Data Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, Algorithm Design, Python, NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib, MySQL, Web Scraping, Cython, Google Analytics, Multivariate Analysis, C++, C
