Member of the senior management committee in charge of designing and evolving the product development processes as the company moved from a ‘per customer’ deployment approach into a more sustainable product based strategy. From May 2006 to May 2007 (1 year 1 month) ISP Senior Consultant @ Providing technical and operational consultancy on the setup of a Middle East based WiMax ISP focused on enabling residential and small-enterprise broadband and VOIP services over a large metropolitan area. Providing strategic support on a variety of ISP access network design decisions ranging from the analysis of a variety of WiMax Base Station vendors to the design of backhaul microwave infrastructure and satellite powered internet feeds.
Design of end-to-end IP core and NOC infrastructure in coordination with local infrastructure providers from the basic routers and firewall elements to e-mail and VAS elements (web, databases). Support to the internal software development team on the integration of the pre-paid Billing and OSS components into the network infrastructure (Cisco CSG). Close advisor to the management team on various ISP operational aspects including tariff plans and tiered services, service adoption rates & churn and contact center implementation plan. From January 2006 to May 2006 (5 months) Prague, The Capital, Czech RepublicISP Technical Operations Manager @ Reporting to the CIO with responsibility for managing a 60+ technical staff in charge of Data Center, NOC and Services Delivery for the one of the largest ISPs in Latin America offering a variety of services including broad/narrow band and a growing number of VAS ranging from E-mail, web hosting, dial-up acceleration and client desktop security applications. Instrumental role on stabilizing the network and NOC infrastructure after a high growth start-up period through the redesign of several key architectures and internal processes; bringing the PMI foundation into the organization; implementing a formal ROI based budgeting process for technology capital expenditure; and strict TCO management of the network infrastructure.
Working closely with the CIO and CFO during cost optimization rounds where operating and capital expenditures had been significantly reduced while improving (and measuring) real SLAs. Design and implementation of a NOC management system including real time monitoring, inventory, trouble ticket, workflow and SLA verification modules allowing major efficiency gains and providing KPIs transparency to the organization. From January 2001 to December 2005 (5 years) São Paulo Area, BrazilSystems Administrator @ Reporting to the Senior Director of Information Technology with responsibility for company’s LAN/WAN, IT and Internet infrastructures. Instrumental participation in the deployment a multi-million dollar point-to-point Microwave based WAN (Transburti, later re-branded into TBN) enabling broadband connectivity (2 - 45Mbps) with 50+ large advertising agencies in two large metropolitan areas. The network evolved into a large B2B automation portal serving the company’s customers and partners.
