From July 2004 to August 2004 (2 months) Research Scientist @ Amazon Team: Consumer Marketing Analytics- Designed, built, and productionized large-scale machine learning models which measure the likelihood of customers to take any action, such as purchasing from a product category (e.g. books, clothing), signing up for a program (e.g. Prime), downloading mobile shopping app, among many others.- Designed, built, and productionized channel response propensity models which measure the likelihood of customers to engage with various channel communications, such as email or mobile. Generated channel-adjusted customer propensity models for all customer actions using channel response models.- Designed, ran, and analyzed live experiments / marketing campaigns in collaboration with marketing managers for benchmarking marketing efforts using customer propensity models vs. manual / heuristic targeting and other options in various channels. These channels include email, online, social (Facebook), mobile.- Designed, built, and productionized uplift / incremental models to measure the differential propensity of a customer to take an action after targeting. Spoligoforests are used in TB-Lineage tool at http://tbinsight.cs.rpi.edu/about_tb_lineage.html. Both spoligoforests and host-pathogen maps are used in the design of interactive version of TB-Vis at http://tbinsight.cs.rpi.edu/about_tb_vis.html . - Developed an algorithm to find the mutation history in the DR region of M. tuberculosis complex and found topological attributes of the resulting phylogenetic tree. Built two new models, Starting Point Model (SPM) and Longest Block Model (LBM) for one of the attributes, namely, mutation length frequency.* Enron email classification into topics - Designed and implemented experiments on real and synthetic datasets to test the accuracy of email message distribution into topics using the Latent Dirichlet Allocation. Classified email messages of Enron into topics based on word distribution.* MetPetDB: http://metpetdb.rpi.edu/ - Contributed to design and implementation of client-server architecture of a database for Metamorphic Petrology.
