I love recruiting! People often ask me how I became a recruiter and the truth of the matter is that I actually got lucky. I was going to school to become a Psychologist when I was offered a position as a sourcer to help pay for college. Somehow it just clicked for me and I was good at it so within a few months I was doing full lifecycle recruiting and never once looked back. It is fun to work with people during a stressful time of their life (changing jobs) and being an internal recruiter let's me focus on what is best not only for my company, but the candidates I work with.
The other part of recruiting that I love is building great teams. Hiring managers rely on me to help them find the talent they need for their team and candidates rely on me to get them the information they need to make a good decision. There is no shortage of stress during the process, but the reward of finding and bringing on great talent is worth it without a doubt.
