Mr. Meese is an Altoona PA native and a graduate of Hollidaysburg Area High School. He earned a BA in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and a MBA from Temple University. After graduation he held corporate senior executive operating positions in marketing/sales, business development and finance. He spent most of his corporate career with West Pharmaceutical Services Inc. (West), – a NYSE traded company, and was a member of West’s Top Management Committee during his last four years with the company. Following his career with West, Mr. Meese founded Business Development Associates, Inc. (BDA), a Raleigh NC based investment banking firm. Since its inception, BDA's team has provided acquisition, sell side, capitalization, market development, valuation, business plan development, interim management and corporate governance services to middle market companies. Mr. Meese has served on two public company, and a number of private company and not for profit Boards of Directors. He was an independent director of DRI Corp {NASDAQ} from 01/91 through 10/10. He chaired the Board’s Technology Committee and was a member of both the Audit Committee (which he chaired from '94 to '04) and the Corporate Governance and Nominating Committees. He served on Smart Online Inc.’s Board of Directors from 12/06 to 6/10. He chaired the Board’s Audit Committee and was a member of both the Compensation and Corporate Governance & Nominating Committees. He also served as Smart Online's Interim CEO for 6 months in '09 at the request of the Board Chairman. BDA is a member of the Blair County Chamber of Commerce and The Blairmont Club. Rebuilt sales team morale. During this six month interim assignment, sales increased month over month from the previous year. Participated in the hiring of a full time director of sales and marketing. From October 2010 to March 2011 (6 months) Interim CEO @ For six months, at the request of the Chairman of the Board, replaced the existing CEO of this 35 employee, publicly traded software company. Full P&L responsibility with additional focus on rebuilding a fragile corporate culture and team along with serving as the primary management contact with the shareholder class action lawsuit against the company and the litigation brought against the company by the company's founder.
