Business Intelligence Architect (contract position) @ Working in Microsoft's Operating System Group as an enterprise BI architect. Pushing a top-down business objective-driven methodology for defining title performance and in-game telemetry reporting requirements for Xbox Fitness, Nike+ Kinect Training, Project Spark, National Geographic, PlayFit, Kodu, and all of the new Microsoft HoloLens titles. Rolling out the necessary business process and technology to deliver actionable business intelligence. Responsible for all phases of the software development lifecycle within the project scope (I'll define, document, gain approval of business requirements, and write the code to transform, aggregate, and visualize the data).

All of my "contract positions" since 2007 have been completed while working at DLI. From January 2007 to Present (9 years) Data Analyst (contract position) @ Brought in to assist in the creation of a business intelligence solution for Amazon’s Flexible Payment System. Responsible for rolling out a central reporting solution to show aggregated and detailed accounting data from 3 disparate systems. Worked with stakeholders to identify issues created by cross-system dataflow between order to cash (OTC) and AR tied out to the GL. Wrote PL SQL for MYSQL and Oracle on Linux to perform complex enterprise data analysis. Mandated to manage the fix for any bugs identified as a result of this effort. Responsible for creating the operational process for BI data consumption by the accounting organization.

Technology used: Oracle, MySQL, PL/SQL, VIM, and Linux From October 2012 to December 2012 (3 months) World Wide Events Product Manager (contract position) @ Brought back into the organization (see position under Revel below) to assist the Product Manager with new “all up” implementation based on new business requirements. Worked with 8 countries to define a global events business process. Captured business requirements (BRD) from newly defined events process. Defined and clarified new global set of business requirements. Worked with the Microsoft UX team to streamline the event creation and customer registration UI. Defined BI strategy for the platform and assisted in implementation via code reviews. Wrote the BRD and FSD for tracking public employee attendance at Microsoft events (government gift compliance), managing events in a series, onsite check-in, and the implementation of business intelligence creating a holistic view of the customer based on upstream and downstream data warehouse data.

Starting with the requirements from five subsidiaries, performed business process modeling and a gap analysis to identify the best technical solution. Performed business process reengineering to create a signed off baseline Workshop management process for all five subsidiaries. Took the requirements from the baseline process and worked with IT to modify an existing internal system. The resulting system caused a massive increase in employee productivity as most previously manual tasks (data collection and tracking via email and Excel, etc.) were automated. The Workshop management system is now live in 23 countries. From August 2007 to June 2009 (1 year 11 months) Privacy Analyst/Developer (part-time contract position) @ Performed product privacy reviews for internal and externally facing products. Made recommendations to product teams to keep software in compliance with Microsoft's privacy standards. Facilitated legal review and sign off of product compliance and privacy statements. Built a tool to automate privacy statement creation.
Technology used: InfoPath, XML, and VBA From March 2008 to May 2008 (3 months) Senior Consultant @ From June 2006 to June 2007 (1 year 1 month) World Wide Events Product Manager (contract position) @ Worked as Product Manager on the Microsoft World Wide Events platform. Started 80% into a troubled release as a smoke jumper resulting in a successful rollout within 1 month of the original go-live date. Grew system usage from 3000 to 5000 internal users. External customer registrations grew from 3 million to 6 million per year. These increases were due to increased subsidiary adoption based on better functionality and usability for Microsoft’s customers.

From July 2005 to June 2006 (1 year) Project Manager (contract position) @ Managed the implementation and integration of MS CRM. Worked with project team to define, establish and ensure completion of all program milestones and to maintain a disciplined adherence to timelines and budgets. Drove team to meet revenue goals and other performance metrics. Worked with internal clients to develop and support the strategic vision for the program, including strategic and tactical planning as needed. Provided full and accurate program communication to project team and sponsors. Used scenario based training to train 145 pilot users nationwide. Project finished on time and ~$180k under budget.
