Ms Scarcella, is the former Senior Vice President and Strategic Sourcing Officer for The Thomson Corporation. Ms. Scarcella was appointed to the position with Thomson in December 1999. She created and was chairperson of the Thomson Sourcing Council and a senior member of the Thomson chief technology officers’ council. Her areas of responsibility included establishing corporate-wide supplier agreements, developing strategic relationships, leveraging and negotiating procurement opportunities for technology, travel, real estate and general maintenance repair and operations. Ms.Scarcella has initiated significant studies which led to Thomson’s major transformation efforts for driving operational excellence through efficiency and effectiveness across the enterprise.
Ms. Scarcella has held a number of key senior leadership positions during her Thomson career of 16 years including president of operations & technology, and chief technology officer for Thomson Financial. In addition, she was a member of the Thomson Financial executive committee and chaired the Thomson Financial CTO advisory board.
Prior to joining Thomson, Ms. Scarcella was vice president of technology with Shark Information Services in New York, where she was responsible for establishing and maintaining ten data centers and a global network. She was also a limited partner with a wall street brokerage firm, the creators of the Shark subsidiary, and has served as operations coordinator for Securities Industry Automation Corporation (SIAC).
