VCloud Air Storage Intern @ 1. vCloud Air administrator faces few challenges in managing storage profiles. • First is maintaining consistency of storage profiles in a vCloud Air environment is manual, tedious and error-prone process. vCloud Air contains several tens and hundreds of cloudVM instances. It is difficult to create/update/delete the storage profiles on every cloudVM with exactly the same configuration. • Second, it is not scalable - If a new cloudVM is added to the vCloud Air, all the storage profiles have to be created on the new cloudVM. This brings in a lot of complexity in managing storage profiles in Software-Defined Data Center. 2. We solve this problem of consistency and scalability by using the Decentralized Control Plane(DCP) framework. Implemented a standalone micro-service corresponding to each cloudVM instance that transparently handles synchronization of storage policies across various cloudVM instances without any administrative intervention .
