I’m a Computer Engineer with about 4 years of experience in the Web Development sector. I’ve got my degree from PUC-Rio, but now I live in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. During these 4 years I have explored most of the usual tools related to the development of full-stack Web Applications, such as Javascript/jQuery, HTML, CSS/Sass/Twitter Bootstrap but mostly back-end technologies like PHP, Ruby on Rails and Python/Django, besides of course RDBMS (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL). Developer and Founder @ From April 2014 to Present (1 year 7 months) Python Developer @ Development of web applications for PBS, a U.S. American TV network. As part of the "Core Services" team, my main activities include: • Data modelling/database design (MySQL/PostgreSQL). • Providing data access to higher level PBS applications by writing APIs and other backends using Python/Django and other technologies (e.g. Django Rest Framework, Amazon Web Services, etc). • Contributing to in-house open-source Python projects such as pycaption. • Developing interactive administrative interfaces using front-end tools such as Javascript/jQuery, CSS/Twitter Bootstrap etc. • Writing tests for my code with the help of Python/Django native tools (e.g. unittest, Django test client) but also pytest, Selenium, etc. • Managing reproducible development environments with the help of tools such as Vagrant, Chef, Salt, Ansible etc. From April 2014 to Present (1 year 7 months) Cluj-Napoca, RomaniaSoftware Development Intern @ Worked in the database and test teams, developing business software for Petrobras, the Lab’s main customer. The Lab’s environment was strongly academic and put emphasis on good requirement engineering practices. I was in constant contact with Oracle Databases and PL/SQL, but most of my work was written in Java. From October 2012 to July 2013 (10 months) Rio de Janeiro Area, BrazilWeb Development Intern @ Developed web systems for a university’s Lab and its customers. The customers were mostly within the university and included professors and departments in need of a web page or system. I was in charge of both back and front-end programming, and worked with PHP, Javascript/jQuery and occasionally HTML and CSS. From May 2012 to June 2012 (2 months) Rio de Janeiro Area, BrazilWeb Development Intern @ Worked with the web development team in Órama, an internet-based financial market company that allows its customers to invest in exclusive investment funds for a lower price. The team was small and I came in close contact with not only software development but also management, infrastructure, interface design, marketing, etc. I was primarily in charge of back-end development, but my tasks often included a fair amount of front-end programming as well. The main technologies I used included Django, a web application framework written in Python, jQuery/Javascript, HTML and CSS.
