I love stories! After college, I spent ten years working my way around the world, listening to stories of people from all walks of life. The connection and learning that resulted has inspired my career as an oral historian, author, public speaker, and founder of organizations that help people tell their stories, verbally and through books, films, websites, and other media.
Everyone has valuable stories to tell. Giving people their voice empowers them to achieve their highest potential, overcome challenges, and improve their quality of life. Helping people to listen also helps open people's minds, build connections, and connect deeply in ways that can transform one's world view, behavior, and life. On a community and societal level, we literally need stories to help us work together to build a world where all can thrive.
