I have over 18 years of experience working in solutions development. I excel at understanding complex situations (technical, procedural, personnel) and getting down to brass tacks. I cut out anything that is not adding value, I get things done - even with large groups, even across the globe - and keep people on the same page while doing it.
My specific expertise is helping companies to scale through the focused application of resource management, technical approach, and process improvement to support the enterprise strategy. This sometimes means helping to focus or even identify the strategy. This has taken the form of getting massively complex projects completed at large organizations (like Coventry/Aetna) as well as helping small, start-up companies (less than 50 employees) to scale and grow to greater than 300 employees, and have worked with two companies through their Initial Public Offering (Tremor Video and Digital Insight).

Managing Director @ Responsible for running Tremor's Singapore subsidiary, I lead an office of 35 people. The majority of these people are on our two software development scrum teams. There is also a creative design team, admin staff, and sales personnel. My primary job responsibilities are guiding software development, iterating on our Agile Scrum process, ensuring financial stability and orderly bookkeeping, compliance with local laws and process, and serving as a mentor to the team members. From February 2015 to Present (11 months) SingaporeVice President, PMO @ I started at Tremor Video with an initial mission of introducing Project Management practices in order to help the company better support its fledgling Enterprise Software business. In the process of creating Tremor's PMO I also helped to grow their Product Management discipline extensively and as a result have become involved in varied parts of the business including Product Management and others.
The PMO that I created at Tremor is rooted in Agile philosophy and based in part on Highsmith's Agile Project Management (APM) framework and Leffingwell's Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). I've adapted the ceremonies and artifacts to work well for Tremor and we have iterated on these concepts starting with the least change and adding on to it until we found the results that were desired. My PMO manages a robust project portfolio and works with the Executive Team to ensure that the risk/value balance is aligned with strategic goals.
I have both Project Managers and Scrum Masters reporting to me in this organization which allows us to deliver great value through improved execution and close alignment of the development cycle to the overall project. From January 2012 to Present (4 years) Greater New York City AreaProduct Manager @ I came to Pega out of a desire to return to an individual contributor role. Pega is the creator of the world’s leading BPM software product, PRPC. I worked in the Solutions Framework group which uses the PRPC product to build horizontal and vertical business solutions. I was the Product Owner for the Provider Contracts Application, part of the new Claims Processing Suite for Health Care. I helped to bring this product from concept to Agile execution by decomposing the business needs into actionable user stories and coordinating all of this with a Product Vision and Roadmap. I introduced changes to our teams methodologies that included the use of highly-effective Product Vision documents and the use Mind Maps to decompose Customer Needs, Epcis and User Stories.
I have gone through the Pega enablement process including training and certification in the following programs: Certified System Architect (CSA); Certified CPM Architect (CCA); Certified Methodology Black Belt (CMBB); Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA). From January 2011 to January 2012 (1 year 1 month) Director AppDev @ I had full responsibility for Coventry’s Enterprise Content Management system and Coventry’s Business Process Management system. Our ECM tools included externally-facing web tools to serve our clients as well as their customers. I was responsible for the metrics-driven incremental development of these systems to meet the needs of our users and internal customers.
I created and managed the Enterprise Content Management Center of Excellence (ECM CoE), responsible for the strategy to meet the content and process management requirements for the entire organization. We used IBM products including FileNet P8.
Administratively I managed a team of varying size (up to 20 Java and .Net Developers, Analysts, Project Managers and Managers) and had responsibility for project budgets and software spending. My development team would often come to me for advice on tough coding questions because I stayed hands-on regarding architecture, analysis, design and development.
Through the use of “overarching technical objectives” applied to all of our annual projects and solid architectural practices we were able to migrate away from legacy Perl, C and Tuxedo code into a web-based architecture consisting of a cohesive data model, business process modeling and a standard UI framework. This has reduced support and maintenance time and enabled my team to develop new functionality in a fraction of the time that it used to take. From March 2003 to January 2011 (7 years 11 months) Director, PMO @ I designed, organized and staffed a PMO (four project managers plus myself) and established practices for change control and releases. I implemented these process improvements in Jira (a work-flow management tool) and Confluence and made these tools standard through the enterprise. This helped FeedRoom through a difficult period of growth. I also developed the process standards to move their software development to an Agile methodology. These changes brought new efficiencies and bandwidth to FeedRoom. From 2007 to 2007 (less than a year) IT Consultant @ While consulting for TekSystems I worked as a developer, technical lead and project manager for several companies, including Wells Fargo and American Express. I prepared SLAs, developed BCP plans and worked closely with vendors and business partners to architect the most reliable and scalable solutions. From 2000 to 2003 (3 years) Consultant @ From 2000 to 2000 (less than a year) Software Engineer @ I started the Research and Development group at this startup company, working as a C++ developer. I was the ninth employee. By the time I left, the company had grown substantially nationwide and we had gone through a successful IPO. From 1998 to 2000 (2 years) Software Engineer @ I was initially brought on as a junior level programmer, just out of college, and was quickly promoted up to a senior level position because of the skill and dedication that I exhibited. Programmed in C, AWK and Informix 4GL. From 1996 to 1998 (2 years)
