I have always been a very determined person and enjoy being challenged. I apply myself to anything that I am given and I try to produce work to a high standard. I have a drive and a passion to learn and I feel that inquisitive character pushes me to take the time to research and understand fully anything I am working on and go the extra mile. Being a woman in engineering has had its challenges but these have always just pushed me to succeed rather than deterring my efforts. I completed my Mechanical Engineering with a Year in Industry at the University of Birmingham, obtaining a 1st class degree. I was also awarded the Gilbert Walker prize for outstanding academic achievement. This degree has given me a good basis of analytical engineering mathematics along with areas such as fundamentals of aerodynamics, manufacturing techniques and design.Design Engineer @ From January 2015 to Present (1 year) Summer Intern @ From August 2013 to September 2013 (2 months) Powertrain Development Engineer - Intern @ I spent my year working in powertrain testing and development on the Mclaren P1. From July 2012 to August 2013 (1 year 2 months) Placement Engineer @ I worked for a summer gaining a wealth of practical hands on experience building and rebuilding both historic and racing engines. The work also included dyno testing and trackside assistance.
